The Archive of Franciszka and Stefan Themerson in Katowice was officially opened in November 2002. The Archive is based on the material donated by Jasia Reichardt and Nick Wadley from the Themerson Archive in London. The collection includes Themersons' books, publications of Gaberbocchus Press founded by the Themersons in London in 1948; original drawings by Franciszka and Stefan; designs for books; photographs; a rich collection of avant-gardeliterary and art reviews accumulated by the Themersons; manuscripts and typescripts, posters and memorabilia. The aim of Themerson Archive in Katowice is to generate original research into the work of Themersons, and to promote their work. The Archive is accessibile to scholars and students, organizers of exhibitions, journalists, anyone whose curiosity or interest has led them to the Themersonian world.
